When I tell people I am a teacher, the first question asked
is invariably, "What do you teach?" I always reply, "Students."
Although science, math, religion, and language arts will be
the courses covered in my classroom, the most important work that takes places
revolves around establishing relationships with my students. We work on
building each other up through our words and actions. Sixth grade is a time of
growth and constant change, so things are never boring in the 6th
grade room. I can promise much laughter, much work, and much to look forward to
this year.

Teacher Biography
Grace Lutheran School: Jennifer Meyer Biography
My name is Jennifer Meyer. I am so blessed to be at Grace with my 8th
grade homeroom. I am the teacher for 7th
and 8th grade history and language arts. This year, I will also be
leading the first Student Council at Grace. Throughout the year, I love to work
with students on small-scale drama productions.
Lutheran education has always been a part of my life. My mother still
teaches at the Lutheran grade school I attended in Walburg, Texas.
I graduated from Concordia University at Austin
in 1999 and moved to Lakeland Florida where I spent six years
teaching middle school language arts. I moved to Jacksonville
in 2006 after teaching for a year in Champaign, Illinois.
When I’m not eating Blue Bell ice cream or gabbing on the phone with my
family, I’m probably curled up somewhere reading. I love sharing favorite books
with my students and watching them get involved in a great story.
