My name is Wendy Clapsaddle and I teach 4th grade at Grace. I graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, with a double major in sociology and Russian studies. After working in retail as a buyer for several years and as the public relations director for an all male college in Indiana, I moved to Ft. Myers, Florida.
I taught in the Lee County public school system and at St. Michael Lutheran School for 11 years. This is my 9th year at Grace.
I have two children. My son, Richard, graduated from Princeton University in 2001, worked as the legal affairs reporter for the Florida Times-Union for two years, graduated from Georgetown Law Center, and is now an assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of New York. He is marrying Melisa Gao this fall.
My daughter, Betsy, graduated from Duke University. She is in her second year at Georgetown University Business School in Washington D.C. and will receive her MBA in May.
I have been married to Rick Clapsaddle for 5 years. I met him when he hired me to work as a Hallmark Card specialist ( my part-time job).
