My name is Ann Leimer and I am the second grade teacher at Grace. I’m also involved in the music ministry filling in as organist, keyboard accompanist, singing, and playing my flute. I was born and raised in Minnesota and graduated from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska in 1996 with a B.S. in Elementary Education and Early Childhood and a minor in music. My first call was teaching 1st grade in Pompano Beach, FL where I met my husband Dave, also a Lutheran school teacher. After we got married we took a call to Mountain Home, ID and then to Boulder, CO in 1999. In 2001 our son Caleb was born and I became a stay at home mom for six years. Our youngest son Benjamin was born in 2006. We moved to Jacksonville and joined the Grace family in 2007.
Since moving to Jacksonville, my husband’s parents (also Lutheran educators, I guess it’s the family business!) joined us. A year later my parents moved from Colorado to The Villages, a retirement community in central Florida. In the summer of 2011, my brother and his family moved to the Orlando area. I guess we started a trend, but we are so blessed to have our family so close. God is good! In my free time I love to read, play the piano, scrapbook, and have recently taken up running, participating in local races. I especially love to spend time with my family…you’ll most likely find me at the soccer field on Saturdays. What a great place Grace is to serve the Lord!
