Mrs.Wendy Clapsaddle, 4th Grade

You are here:  School » Meet the Grace Lutheran School Team » Mrs. Wendy Clapsaddle, 4th Grade

In fourth grade, higher level thinking skills replace the learning to read philosophy found in the younger grades. It is truly a "Florida Experience" since much of the social studies and science curriculum is devoted to the study of Florida's rich history, dynamic present, and exciting future.
Our students are able to get out of the classroom frequently to experience this wonderful state God has given us. We take many interesting field trips, including outings to the Olustee Battle Reenactment in February and St. Augustine for an overnight trip in May.

Wendy Clapsaddle

My name is Wendy Clapsaddle and I teach 4th grade at Grace. I graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, with a double major in sociology and Russian studies. After working in retail as a buyer for several years and as the public relations director for an all male college in Indiana, I moved to Ft. Myers, Florida.

I taught in the Lee County public school system and at St. Michael Lutheran School for 11 years.  This is my 9th year at Grace.

I have two children. My son, Richard, graduated from Princeton University in 2001, worked as the legal affairs reporter for the Florida Times-Union for two years, graduated from Georgetown Law Center, and is now an Assistant District Attorney in New York City for the terrorism division.

My daughter, Betsy, graduated from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She is currently attending Georgetown University Business School in Washington D.C.

I have been married to Richard Clapsaddle for 4 years. I met him when he hired me to work as a Hallmark Card specialist (my part-time job!)
