My name is Linda Sasse. I grew up in Sterling Heights, Michigan where I was involved in choir, VBS, Bible studies, and evangelism at my home church, Redemption Lutheran. I earned my B.A. in Elementary Education with a concentration in Psychology and English at Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois.
My first call was to teach 2nd grade at Trinity Lutheran in Utica, MI where I had previously served as a student teacher. In 1979 I served as a full time missionary to the high school campuses of the Detroit area with Youth for Christ. In 1982 I received a call to Danville, IL as youth director and 5th grade teacher. I also served on the steering committee for the Central Illinois District Singles where I met my husband Ron. We have three grown children and one grandchild (so far).
I taught a 3rd - 4th grade split in St. Peter, IL, 4 years of preschool at St. Rochester, MI, served as Director of Christian Education in my home congregation, 5 years of 1st grade at Peace Lutheran in Shelby, MI, and 8 years of 2nd grade at St. John/Living Word Lutheran in Rochester, MI. In 2008 I was called to serve as 1st grade teacher at Grace.
My husband and I love being a part of the Grace family. We enjoy walks on the beach, antiquing, going to students’ games, concerts, and recitals, and traveling to see our family. We love to share our faith in the risen Lord to whomever we meet. God has provided many interesting situations and people along the way. Life in Christ is an exciting journey!
